Bartley McCrary letter, 1862.

This collection consists of a letter from Bartley McCrary to his father and family, 1862. The letter is written from Chatham County, Georgia, and describes life in his military camp found miles below Savannah. He was in the 1st Georgia Volunteer Regiment, Light Artillery, Chatham Artillery. McCrary mentions friends, including G. Dickson, F.M. Walker, and William Avery, with whom he was serving. The letter bears a note, signed F.M. Walker, telling the size of the company.
